***TERROR House***

By David Rutkauskas.

It was Halloween night, eight forty five. Me and my friends where walking asking for sweets .We went house to house, until we came to an old house. People said, there is ghosts and zombies in there no one goes in there. One of my friends said can you three go into that house .Of course I said. You won’t last there for five minutes. Okay lets have a bet .If we last there for 30minutes you give all your sweets and 20 euro each. But if you won’t last, you give us the same.

We went inside the house. There was a stair case. We went down it, the stairs were old and rusty .We went very slowly down the stairs. I looked at my watch it was 8:50. Then we saw a rusty door we opened it, the atmosphere in the room was eerie and forbidding .After five minutes I looked at my watch and it was 8:50 the time has stopped. I was frightened like a lost sheep. Then suddenly the door closed .There was a fire in the chimney. But the fire was cold .Then suddenly something fell down the chimney, it was a bloody arm of an old man.

Then suddenly from somewhere appeared a wicked old women her face was scared and bloody. We asked do you know how to get out of this house, she said nothing. We asked again. She still said nothing. She reached into her pocket and took out a knife. It was covered in blood. She said you all will die today. Shivers went down my spine. And I said run. We ran into a different room. It was pitch black, then suddenly we went on and out slowly.

We went another room there was a note on the wall it said, see with your ears not with your eyes or your in for a real surprise. Then suddenly we heard footsteps above us. And then we saw the old women again with her knife in her hand held high. Well luckily I saw a knife on the ground  ,lifted it and threw it at the old women , she fell to the ground dead. And we ran away from that room to the next room.
In the next room there was a man strung to his neck with an internet cable and there was a not nailed in his heart and it said You three are next so enjoy the show. It was written in blood, then suddenly he fell of the cable. Then he opened his eyes, his face was very scared and his eyes where white. We went around his body, but suddenly he grabbed me by my leg  but then his hand fell of his body and it started walking on it fingers like on legs.

In the next room there was a chair and a wicked old man on it, he turned to us and said Children I have been expecting you. We began to sob in silent horror .And he died in the same spot. We went away from him Patrick screamed A A A A A A A A A .I ran up to him and said what happened .He said look there  is a walking hand from the man that was strung with the internet cable. Ausrius kicked it away .And we went out of the room.

The next room was even worse the lights went on, and we saw about ten people strung with cables to the to the ceiling some to there necks, some by there toes and some by there hair. We herd an evil laugh from all directions in the room. All the dead bodies returned to stare at us. Then arms and legs and bodies and hands. Fell from the chimney. Then a strike of lightning hit the pile . The body parts began to form into humans. I didn’t know what to do . So I said “Run!”. We ran like lightning into the next room . We were very tired. We sat down to have a rest for a minute. They went after us. Patrick said “Well this is the end”. I said “No is this how you want to die”.

The skeletons surrounded us. I saw a dead warrior with a sword in his hand. I took it and he woke up. I chopped his head off. But he still did not die . I saw a window and I said “let’s jump out the window” and this will be the end . I was the first one to jump out the window. Then I saw Ausrius and then Patrick. We were hurt, but we managed to get home we never wanted to go there again.

An Awesome Event.

By Chloe Ryan

It was a concert
Of song and dance
There were songs and joy,
For all to jump or prance.

The songs came on,
People took to the floor,
Where they danced and danced,
‘Til they could no more.

They smiled and laughed,
At the funny acts,
There was laughter and chatter,
That’s all that matters.

It came to an end,
People started to go,
The host told them all,
What he thought of the show,

We all knew what he meant,
At such a truly awesome event.

Random Thoughts

Liam Herr

One time I had to rhyme stuff,
I took my time and made a big puff,
My Mom says it`s not enough as my dog went ruff, ruff,
I found it very tough, Ireland loves Damien Duff.

Grass is green, Shrek is green too,
A cow moo`s I don’t watch the news,
I like iced buns, the U.S. has lots of guns,
Girls can be nuns and mums spoil their sons.

I live in Mayo, you didn’t know,
Whose a big nose? wash your mouth with a hose,
Someday I`ll reach the stars, though there`s no life on Mars,
I like eating bars and driving cars.

I like money but I don’t like honey,
I like it sunny, I`d like a bunny,
I have a touch screen phone, I like a good moan,
I like an ice-cream cone and oh I broke my shin bone

I Can’t Write Essays

By Amy Gleeson

I can’t do this silly essay; it’s driving me absolutely mad.

Me: Mammy help me do this essay!

Mam: Lauren, what did I say about writing essays, you’ve got to think about what you want to write.

Me: But Mammy I don’t know what to write.

Mam: Well get your Dad to help you then.

Me: Dad, what will I do for my essay?

Dad: Mmm, you could do a story about a trip to the zoo.

Me: No Dad, I hated our trip to the zoo, yuck, all of those smelly animals.

Dad: Stop it Lauren. It cost me good money for you to see those smelly animals, not to mention your piece of Dublin Zoo sticky rock and souvenir. Go and ask your mother for help!

Me: But Mum said to go and ask you.

Dad: Well go and ask your brother then.

Me: Fine… DYLAN

Dylan: yes, what is it Lauren, can’t you see I’m trying to watch Bear Grylls!

Me: What should I do for my essay?

Dylan: Write about monsters or spiders or something scary like YOUR REFLECTION in the mirror.

Me: DAD, Dylan was no help!

Dad: Why don’t you write about that crowd that you’re always talking about “WRONG DIRECTION”

Me: Stop teasing Dad, it’s ONE DIRECTION and thanks for the brilliant idea.

They’re my favourite band, I just love them. I love the way they dress, their hair is gorgeous and they have the most amazing voices.

Now I can’t think of anything else to write!

You see I told you I can’t write essays.

Me: DAAAD, can you think of anything else I can write about???

Friends Forever

The Secret Tunnel

By Bill Cleare

I went to Spain on my holidays with my cousin. One day we all went to the beach.  We were digging in the sand when we found a passage way.  We went into the passage way and there was a cave at the end. At the end of the cave was very dark.  Suddenly we saw day light. It leads to a secret funfair.  There was a rollercoaster and magic mirrors and bumping cars.  Everything was free and we won a lot of prizes.  We had a brilliant day. We had to go because it was getting late. We brought our prizes home through the tunnel. We told our mas and dads about the adventure on the plane on the way home.

Spring is here.

Spring is here,
Let out a cheer,
Daffodils growing,
Snowdrops showing,
Lar Corbett going,
It might even be snowing,
The crops are growing
Gardeners sowing,
Oh Spring is so cool!

Kuno agus Siyan

Scríofa ag Mark Ó D

Fadó bhí dhá Iora rua ann. Ní gnáth Iora Rua a bhí intu seo. Bhí siad seo in ann eitilt. Kuno agus Siyan an t-ainm a bhí orthu. ‘Dúisigh suas Kuno’ a dúirt Siyan. Tá sé in am don bhricfeasta. D’éirigh Kuno. Chuaigh sé isteach sa cistin. Bhí na ballaí dearg agus bhí dath gorm ar an urlár. Shuigh siad síos agus d’ith siad an bricfeasta. Slisín bagún agus ubh a bhí acu le n-ithe.
Chuaigh siad chuig an trá. Bhí dadaí leo. Bhí siad ag dul ag iascaireacht. Dúirt dadaí leo go raibh sé ag dul ag an siopa ar dtús agus go mbeadh sé ar ais i gceann nóiméad. Thosaigh Kuno agus Siyan ag siúl ar an  trá. Chonaic siad long mór taobh thiar do carraig mór milteach. ‘Siyan céard é sin?’ a d’iarr Kuno. Is long foghlaí mara atá ansin a d’fheagair sé. Ar mhaith leat dul ag seoltóireacht a d’iarr Siyan.
Bhruigh siad an long isteach san fharraige. Thosaigh an long ag bogadh agus thosaigh sé ag dul amach sa bhfarraige. Bhí siad ag seoltóireacht. Ní raibh siad ag iarraidh dul i bhfad. Theastaigh uaibh dul chomh fada leis an Oileán beag a bhí gar dóibh.
Shroich siad an Oileán. Oileán na foghlaí mara a bhí ann. D’fhág siad an long agus chuaigh siad isteach ar an Oileán. Bhí na Foghlaí Mara ag seasamh ansin. ‘An bhfuil aon bia agaibh?’Tá airgead agam a d’fheagair an dhá Iora Rua. Dúirt na foghlaí nach raibh airgead ag teastáil. Thug siad píosa bia do na foghlaí. Go tobann chuala siad torann úafásach. Bhí an bolcán ag pléascadh. Scioptha Kuno, caithfidh muid imeacht don Oileán seo anois díreach. Rith siad chuig an long agus chuaigh siad abhaile. Ans chuig dadaí agus thosaigh siad ag insint an scéal dó. Bhí lá an- mhaith agaibh nach raibh, a dúirt daidí.

Bruno’s Adventures
By George Kenny

            Chapter 1

When Bruno was in juniors his parents used to play with him every day when he came home from school. But when he was in seniors they changed. They used to make him walk home from school every day, which was three kilometres away. He didn’t mind doing it at the start because it was new to him but after doing it for two weeks he began to hate it. He didn’t know what was going to happen to him when a new school was being built it changed him for the better…

For two years Bruno had to walk home. He kept believing he could fly on his way home from school. So he used do a little run and then jump believing he was flying. After the Christmas holidays two new boys joined Bruno’s class. They were called Scott and John. Bruno began to be really good friends with Scott and John.  The three boys loved to go places and they loved climbing. When the three boys heard about the new school being built they all looked at each other. After a month they visited the school. They started to climb walls and pretend they were in classrooms. When the boys were leaving they noticed a small tiny hole in the wall. But when they went right up to the crack it turned out to be a small bright crack. All the three boys looked at each other.

                  Chapter 2

The next day when Bruno Scott and john were having their lunch they were discussing the crack on the wall and were thinking how it got there. During school they decided to go to the building site after school to check out the crack again. At the building site John went up to the crack and looked through. All of a sudden he jumped back and he exclaimed
‘Go on Bruno you have a look’
So he looked through the hole and it was absolutely amazing.

The first thing he saw was a really blue sky, extremely green grass and loads of trees. He looked up inside the crack and there was one humongous cloud in the shape of the letter W. He was wondering if there letter W was just random or did it mean something? Bruno looked back at Scott and John when suddenly stones came falling to the ground. The stones that hit the ground turned into the sharp rough ones that already on the ground. Bruno, Scott and John all looked at each other and Scott whispered
‘ It’s big enough to climb into now’
All the three friends agreed to stay together no matter what happened.

                    Chapter 3

Bruno, Scott and John were all inside the crack. They all knew the world was magic. They all started to walk around and Scott took the lead. They eventually came to a tree with loads of holes in it. Each hole had a number and then somebody came out from behind the tree. On his t-shirt was the number 80.

The man who came out was different to every one that the three boys had seen before. He had tiny but round but round ears, he had big red lips and he had bright gold angel wings on his back. This man came up closer to the three boys and he said
‘Hi Bruno, Scott and John my name is Simon’
Bruno walked up to Simon and blubbered
‘How do you know our names Simon?’
Simon replied
‘This world is magic for whatever you wish for will come true’
Bruno gasped
‘So if you want to fly you can?’
All of a sudden Bruno started going upwards and wasn’t coming down. Simon roared up to him.
‘Bruno if you wish to come down you must wish it.’
Bruno didn’t wish to float downwards. Instead he just dropped down and landed in a big green tree.

                     Chapter 4

Bruno looked at Simon, John and Scott. He knew by the look on Simon’s face that you never wish to just drop down. Simon flew up to bring Bruno down. When Bruno was back down Scott and John Whispered
‘WOW!’

A few minutes after Bruno was down Simons top glowed gold. John blubbered to Simon
‘Why is your top glowing?’
Simon replied
‘ When I do something that will stop someone getting killed my top glows gold.’
For example if Bruno kept going upwards he would reach the elimination line. If that happens to him, what ever he wishes for won’t work.

Bruno was shocked at what he had and put his hands up to his head and saw his watch. It was half past six and he soon realised that his dinner was at seven o clock. Bruno told Simon that they would be back tomorrow. Scott asked Simon how they would get back to the crack. Simon took the boys back to the crack in no time. As Simon lived there, he knew the place back to front.

Chapter 5

The next day when the boys were at school the teacher was teaching English and said whatever you wish for you have to work hard for it.  Bruno, John and Scott all looked at each other and smiled. When the bell rang to go home the three boys ran to the building site. They were inside the crack and they got lost. They called Simon’s name and he came out and he groaned “typical, those boys always get lost”.
Simon took the three boys to the tree and told them that since they knew all about the magic world they could have one magic wish in their outside world. However, they must swear not to tell anyone. On the other hand you can just forget everything that happened to you. Bruno went up to Simon and said “I want one wish please”. One by one all the boys got their wish. Bruno got the wish to fly. Scott got the wish to be strong and John got the wish to be invisible.  Simon told the three boys that they have to leave before the crack closes. John asked Simon why and Simon replied “the builders will be closing the crack up soon, so you have to leave”. All the three boys went to the crack and got out just in time. The builders were just about to close up the crack when they popped out.  The builders were asking how they got in through such a small wall. The three boys all said together  “we don’t know, it’s probably magic”.

For the next few years Bruno flew home from school every day and when his parents asked him how he got home so quickly he would always say “I’m probably going faster”. His parents were becoming suspicious so they used to drive him home from school every day. Bruno was delighted that his parents were driving him home from school every day but he still wanted to fly home on the dry days.

The Bullying

By Amy Leonard

 Chapter 1

I never knew so many people hated foreigners.
As dad drove the car, I peeped my head out the window.
Lots of children stood there looking at me, like I was the Queen
Of England. I thought these London people would be use to her
By now I sat there thinking what would it be like out there playing
. Hopscotch with girls, football with boys. I used to do that in
Germany with Peter and Ella all day until my mom would say
Time for dinner, while I would hide. I love Germany, when will I be going home!!!!

“We’re here, honey” mum announced. I couldn’t wait to see the house.
“I’m picking my room first,” Ashley giggled.
 “No I am” Aisling laughed
They fought.
“SHUT UP “ I hissed.
Growing up with twins is hard work.
Especially with eight year olds.

I opened the car door and saw a big
Creamy house shinning. I couldn’t believe it
The beautiful house was mine. I couldn’t
Wait to go into the biggest house ever.

When I opened the house door. I skimmed through the parts of the house I could see.
Mum and dad where thinking what colour to paint the walls.

I legged it upstairs. I felt like a dog after a ball or something. I opened a wooden door and saw the room the suited me best.

I unpacked my suitcases, and look in a box of paints. I picked a nice deep
Purple colour and a ghost white so the room wouldn’t look too dull.

At dinner time Mum and Dad were talking about my new
School. At the other school the teacher was a 16-year-old girl,
Doing baby stuff. Addition and subtraction. I’m13! I should be doing different stuff!!!!!

The bright, yellow, sun rose early Monday morning
I was up around 8:00 am. Mum drove me to school
I was so nervous I almost wet myself.

A tall blonde Chelsea girl (I’m just guessing) waltzed up to me. She glared with a frown

“Good day” she smirked. I had no idea what she was saying
“Good day are you deaf?” she barked.
“No” I whispered. She looked at me then turned and glared back at me
Two girls who looked quite nice came up to her.
They stared to whisper and laughed about me.
I got very anger and spited out.

“Good day love ” and other English sayings.
They stared at me like I was speaking gibberish.
“Stop!!!!!” the girl shouted. I stood there without moving a muscle.
“Look who ever you are uh…. um…”
I knew she was thinking of a mean name to call me.
“Look, German this is my school so don’t be cheeky” she demanded
“Build a bridge and get over it,” I teased.
Suddenly I felt in charged for once.
“A” when she was going to continue the bell rang.
I moved 1 step and she stopped me “ I’m Judy and your worst nightmare”.
I thought to myself “HELP ME”

CHAPTER 2

I went home after school and Mum said that she had big news.
“I got a job ” mum cried
“As what” I questioned
“A hairdresser, the woman who owns it said her daughter goes to your school.
I wished it wasn’t Judy that would make my life worse
“ Judy O’Rail, her mom is Kitty” she cheered.
“ What “ I paused. I was so angry I felt like hitting
Mum. I was going to tell her about that wicked old witch.
But this was mums first job, she did on the other hand have one as a maid but she wished she never said yes to Rude Rod.
His house was so smelly. I thought it was a damp dump.
The dirty walls were making huge cracks.
And his single camp bed was so small I never thought Ashley
Or Aisling would fit!!!!!!

The next day I walked to school.
When I arrived I saw Judy. She knew my mum got the job. I knew there was going to be war.
They followed me
“Hey where you going?” she barked
As soon as she said that I got a painful punch in my belly.
It felt like 10,000000 knifes were stuck into me.
I could feel blood but there was none. My heart was thumping so hard I thought it was going to explode!!!!!
I fell miserably down on the sore, hard and grey ground. They started to kick me.
In my ribs, my knee, my leg, my EVERTHING

6 MONTHS LATER     CHAPTER 3

I was in my room writing in my Judy book. I made up story about an old witch who is mean to all the fairies but then she dies.

Everyday was the same; Judy thinks she is the highlight of my day.
But she is not. My dad is you see he is a army man and I would do anything to see him. I love and miss him so much.

I went school early and Judy wanted to talk. She said:
“My mom is firing your mum” she teased wickedly
I was so so so so (there is 1 million so s) angry.
I rushed home.
“Mom!!” I screamed
She looked at me with a frightened look.
“Honey it’s only 10:00 am go back to school” she moaned .
“Mom you’re going to get……….” .The phone rang hard

             “Hello” Mom greeted.
“Uh, uh uh uh ok bye now” she hung up .
“That was Kitty ……”
“She wants to see me,” she announced.
At 3:00 pm I arrived home from school. Ashley and Aisling were very giddy.
When mom arrived home from speaking with Kitty.I tried my best to erase that humorous grin of my pale face.

I knew that she got fired. I could see it in her blue eyes. The next day I had a great plan to ruin Judy’s life.
“Hey Judy” I cheered. They ran after me.
I had a string and they tripped over it. Their knees were very bloody and sticky. They all cried.
Judy looked the most babyish.
“Payback” I thought.
I got my camera from my pale blue school bag.

I called everyone and they all laughed.

MEANWHILE
Dad was home and I left a note saying:
Dear Dad Mom got fired tell the President

Dad rushed to the president. They had a long chat and at the end Mom got her job back.
And now she owns the hair salon.

Euro 2012 Final
By Robert McCloskey.

“ Here Here,” buy your tickets here shouted the salesman. I walked over to him and asked him what he was selling and how much they were. “These are two priceless tickets to the EURO 2012 final, the price five euro” he replied. I thought to myself five euro that’s one weeks pocket money. I reached into my pocket and grabbed out a fiver. I wondered should buy the ticket or get some sweets on the way home. All I had was the fiver. I thought long and hard about it and eventually decided to buy the ticket. While I was buying the ticket he told me that the winner would be revealed at 12.00pm next Saturday the 22nd of May here at this stall. That night I dreamed about winning the raffle and getting my hand on those two priceless tickets to the EURO 2012 final. I impatiently waited for two long days until finally the big day came. I excitedly jumped out of my bed and quickly threw on my clothes and out the door in a flash. I scurried down the town with the ticket clasped firmly in my hand. I arrived at the stall about 20 minutes early. A large crowd was gathering around the small stall. Each person hopeful  that they might be the lucky winner of the raffle. My heart was beating fast the adrenaline was pumping and finally the salesman took hold of the microfone and began to speak. The winner for the two tickets to the EURO 2012 final is, the winner had been revealed ROBERT MCCLOSKEY it read. I frantically jumped up and down with delight. I could not believe that this was really happening. I was so glad that I had bought the ticket and now it had all paid off. I quickly ran home and rapidly knocked on my door. My Mam asked me what had happened and I told her the whole story. I leaped for joy again. I ran into my room with the two tickets for the final clasped tightly in my hand. I grabbed my phone and called my friend Jamie. I told him what had happened and asked him did he want to come to the final with me. He screamed repeatedly into the phone “Yes”. The big day was coming in two weeks and I was so excited. It was between Ireland and favourites Spain. In the build up to the
game I had some sleepless nights thinking about the match. My friend
Jamie kept thanking me for giving him the other ticket. Each day I got
more and more excited. The day before the match my heart was pumping
fast. I was so excited and I couldn’t believe this was real. That
night I kept dreaming that Ireland had won the final and were on their
way back to celebrate with the Irish fans.
“Rise and Shine” said my mam as she pulled over the curtains in my
bedroom. The big day had finally came. I called for my friend Jamie
and we walked back to my house. When I got back I ate my breakfast.
Suddenly my mam let out a shout to get ready because we were leaving
in five minutes. I got  ready for the car and so did Jamie. When I was
done I sat down nervously in the car waiting for my mam to start the
car. I put on my seatbelt and off we went . It was obviously going to
be the best day of my life, but I had a bad feeling that Ireland might
not pull of the win against champions Spain.
The journey to the airport was boring but I was so excited I didn’t
really care. When we got to the airport we found out that the flight
to Poland was not leaving until 12.00pm. We waited for a while and
then got on to the plane. I said “goodbye” to my mam and soon enough
after we were on our way to the EURO 2012 final.
After the long journey to Poland we got a taxi from the airport to the
pitch. When we got to the pitch I thought that it was brilliant.
When we got our seats in the stadium it was almost time for kick off.
I bought Coke , Popcorn and Candy Floss. Time past quickly and the
referee slowly walked onto the pitch with his officials. Suddenly the
two teams came jogging out of the long tunnel which leaded down to the
dressing rooms. Spain won the coin toss and chose to take the tip off.
The big game that I had spent weeks thinking about was finally here.
Spain dominated the first 10 minutes and their possession was rewarded
by a nice goal from their star player Xavi and about 5 minutes later
Spain almost doubled their lead as their powerful free kick was tipped
on to the bar by Shay Given. But Ireland just could not hold on to
half time and on 45 minutes Iniesta bagged Spain’s second of the game.
Then the half time whistle blew and Spain lead 2-0 at half time. I
don’t know was it the team talk that Giovani Trapattoni gave the team
or the bananas that the team ate at half time but when they came out
of the tunnel for a second time it was certainly a different
performance compare to the first half. Early on in the second half
Shay Givens ling punt down the field was controlled by Damien Duff
then passed to Robbie Keane who slotted it past the Spanish goalkeeper
to make it 2-1. Suddenly Aidan Mc Geady got past the last defender and
scored to make it 2-2 it was suddenly game on. I was amazed by the way
Ireland played for the last 30 minutes, and then a moment I will never
forget when Spanish Centre Back Carlos Puyol fouled Damien Duff inside
the box. “Penalty” screamed the Irish fans but when the referee “who
by the way had an outstanding game” pointed straight to the spot the
stadium erupted. Robbie Keane Irelands number 10 stepped up to the
spot to take the penalty. The stadium went silent , the referee blew
the whistle and Robbie Keane hit it into the left top corner. 3-2 the
comeback had just been complete. Soon after that the referee blew the
full time whistle.
All the Irish fans cheered and shouted. I rapidly ran on to the pitch
and celebrated with some of the Irish players. The man of the match
award went to striker Robbie Keane, He also got to lift the trophy as
he was the Ireland Captain. It was a day that I would never forget.
The next day I returned home and so did the Irish team who had done
the impossible by beating the former champions Spain in the EURO 2012
final. The welcome the players got was amazing . That day was
definately the best day of my life and some day hopefully I will play

A Wonderful Dream

By Deborah Martins

I put my head on the pillow and fell fast asleep.
I found myself in a big jeep.
The car stopped.
The magic had been drained out if by Frosty the Monster.
The monster had left a trail of water.
I followed it
I knew the land could be in big trouble.
The monster turned into fire and tried to set the whole world on fire.
I lassoed him with my big rope and took him to a water fall.
The land was safe at last and peace and magic were restored.
But there was more danger.
The name of this land was Alfia and it was the land of fairies.
A wild beast lived here and he was trying to destroy all the fairies.
I crossed the clouds of darkness and the seas of waves until I came to the deadly cave.
This is where the monster lived with his deadly brothers and sisters.
I took out my might sword and slayed every monster.
Alfia was saved and I was crowned queen
Suddenly I woke up.

A Wonderful Dream

By Grace

I put my head down and fell fast asleep.
I was sitting on a magic unicorn.
He was so beautiful.
He had big wings.
He gave me a ride up into the sky.
I woke up.
It was just a dream.

A Fall of Snow

Eadaoin O’Neill

One winter’s morning, Judy woke up and felt a nip in the air. She sprang from the bed and flew like a flash over to the window. She suddenly started jumping in up and down with excitement. “There’s snow in the garden! There’s snow in the garden!!” She then noticed a little robin perched on a log in the deep snow. He looked hungry. She phoned her friend Harry. It took a while for Harry to come over because of the deep snow. While Harry was on his way over, Judy threw her clothes on and went downstairs. Judy went outside and Harry was already making the snowman’s body. Judy went inside again and got a scarf for the snowman and one of her dad’s pipes for his mouth. Then Judy and Harry made snowballs and threw them at each other. Judy had more snowballs than Harry, so when Harry bent over to make more, Judy threw one at him! Harry got so angry he hit Judy in the face. But Harry did not realise that Judy’s face started bleeding! Harry fell over laughing! Meg ran in and told Mammy. Mammy gave Judy a cloth for her face and Harry came in still smirking. Harry gave a big yell. “Oh my God! I’m so sorry”, he said to Judy. But when they were inside they never realised their snowman and all the snow had melted to the ground because of the sunshine. Then Judy and Harry went back into the garden. “Where are my snowballs?” said Judy. “Where is our snowman?” screamed Harry. “Oh!” said Judy. “They’re melted away”. Loads of the snow was gone and Judy and Harry were very sad. Judy and Harry were thinking about next Christmas. “Let’s make the biggest snowman ever next year”, said Judy and Harry together. “But let’s say this was the best Christmas ever!” said Judy.

Wax Nightmare!

Alan Dennehy

It was Halloween night and my friend Mark and I were going to a Halloween wax museum. When we arrived it was black with people! We had to squeeze through the door. We were there an hour and then all of a sudden the lights went off. We heard screams and then they faded slowly. The lights came back on and only mark and I were left. Even the wax statues were gone!

Mark and I both looked at each other and wondered what was going on. Next, we heard noises. They were coming closer. Mark and I both ran for the cleaner’s room and locked it. We sat there for a while wondering what was going on bit eventually we got fed up so we got some weapons such as a football bat, two broken pipes and a flashlight and then off we went.

When we reached the hall it was pitch black so we turned on our flashlights, we looked around and then we heard the same noises again. Something moved behind us – we turned like lightening before you could say a thing. Mark took out the pipe he found and went up to the curtain. When he swung it there was a thump and then silence. Something jumped out at Mark and I reacted as fast as lightening and hit whatever it was with my baseball bat. It fell and then scattered. When Mark got up he looked like he had seen a ghost or something. Then he said “that thing that jumped out at me was a vampire!” Then we realised that the wax statues had come to life!

We searched every door in the museum but they were locked and that’s when we started to panic! We were wrecked after running around the museum. We stopped and I looked at my watch. It was nearly midnight. We heard the same noises again except this time they were louder and closer. I could see dark figures in the distance. Mark and I both took out our weapons. Now I could see what the figures were and so could Mark. There was every single type of monster you could think of! But before they could touch us, the clock struck midnight and moonlight came in and burned them all to pieces. The doors flew open. Mark and I ran out, turned around and looked at the museum. Everyone who had disappeared earlier came running out.

Mark and I will always remember that night and wonder what made these strange things happen on Halloween night.

How to Become a Super Hero

By Noah Kouadri, 5th class
Step One:
Make a costume. Go around your house and find any clothing that looks great.
Step Two:
Have a name.  This is the easy part , just have a name and you’re good to go.
Step Three:
Have a lair. Just find any old place that nobody goes to any more to use as a hide-out.
Step Four:
Have Weapons. Not guns, because they’re rubbish. Just have a grapple hook or something more adventurous.
Step Five:
Have a side kick. Maybe find a friend or a sort of nerd, to help you.
Step Six:
Train. This final one- always keep training in fighting skills and stuff like that.
Well that it’s so have fun becoming a Super Hero !.

A HOLE IN THE WALL
By Caylam Gamble

I’m Ben Keane.  I was Frank Dunne’s cellmate. People in prison say they’re  innocent when they’re not.  but Frank was.  , He never killed his mother, he loved her so much. So I’ll tell you about the life and death of Frank Dunne.
Guilty said the judge,’’ No question about it. Franks face was blank. The judge said he would serve a life sentence [25years]
they got him in his orange uniform and off he went. As he was walking in, all the prisoners hands were trying to grab Frank . He got in to his cell and got so angry  that he threw a stone at the wall   and it was made of... plaster?
Frank didn’t sleep that night, the prisoners were shouting at him all night until dawn. The first day in prison is the worst. Frank’s first breakfast was when he met me. Prison breakfast isn’t what you see on TV. Today we had brown bread and orange juice.
“Is anyone sitting here
?” asked Ben.  “Doesn’t look like it” grunted Frank.
Frank Dunne wasn’t a morning person because he was half asleep when he was eating. The Russell twins were over to Frank as quick as the wind. The Russell twins are kind of like fat bullies in prison. Frank wasn’t the type of person you wanted to start a fight with. One of the Russell twins threw Frank’s orange juice in his face. Frank stood up and shoved the twin. The twin shoved Frank on the ground. All the prisoners were chanting “Fight! Fight!  Fight !  Frank got up and punched the twin in the face. The twin was knocked out stone cold. Then the other Russell twin jumped on Frank and the guards came in and hit them with their bats. When Frank got back to his cell he was in pain. He couldn’t chip away at the wall. He called it a night. When Frank woke up there were guards searching his cell. “What’s going on?” asked Frank. Someone broke your window last night. How.  That’s what were trying to find out .Another day in prison for Frank . I threw the rock at your window. You   what . Why did you that I needed your  help   , you could of told me today   well what’s the news, there’s a hole in your wall. You can’t tell anybody and how did you find out  ?  well when  I was walking up to your cell to tell you that I’m leaving in 18 months I seen the hole . So I came up here to give you this pen knife to help you dig faster and here’s a poster of Liverpool players to cover the hole up. Thanks man. (16 MONTHS LATER)    Dear Ben I’m leaving the hole is finished and I’ve heard that one of the Russell twin’s has died. P.S I’ll be in Hawaii sitting on the beach drinking lemonade   . I was shocked that Frank was leaving tonight I didn’t say goodbye . Frank took a deep breadth and climbed into the hole there was silence in the prison Frank was so nervous but he just went for it. He crawled like a army trooper and made it to the back of the building and was at the pipes he burst the pipe all the water came out and nearly drowned Frank, then he climbed in the pipe and when he  got  out he was free he ran as quick as he could until he couldn’t see the prison no more he stopped and cried with tear’s of joy . The next day the guard’s were searching Frank’s cell and then they ripped off the poster and saw the hole they got guard’s searching the hole the town, the city and the hole state. I kept Frank’s letter, they offered me 3 million to tell them where he was but I wouldn’t tell. My time was up in prison when them prison gates opened I was the happiest man in the world I went straight to the airport  got  a ticket to Hawaii . When I got to the beach I saw Frank lying on the sand and the sun was shining directly on Frank I said to Frank how did you do it Frank turned his head got up and gave me a hug.
Somehow his new life would never be the same again.

The Missing Baboon
Le Ailín Nic Suibhne
Yesterday morning, Mrs. Brown, the zoo-keeper discovered a baboon from her zoo had vanished.  Later that morning, the zoo-keeper put an ad on the local radio saying saying
“Missing baboon from Dublin Zoo”.
Anyone who spots the baboon roaming the streets
please call 1875-baboon”.
The next day a call came in from a woman who had seen what she called a ‘big bird with  strange wings and tail’ running along a field.  Eventually, Mrs. Brown tracked down the ‘big bird’ and you’ll never guess!  The bird with the strange wings and tail was none other than the silly old baboon.

The Stations
Le Cora Ní Bhaoill
The station masses were an event that used to take place every March and October.  The priest would call out the namesof the people that were to hold the stations in their homes.  The people that would be picked would have to clean the whole house, even the sheds and the hen coops and everything inside the house.
When the day came, the polished china sets would be brought out at 7 am.  The man of the house would go outside finish last minute jobs.  Neighbours would start to arrive at 8 am.  They may have walked 3 or 4 miles.  The priest would arrive at 9am and he clerks would be in the car with him. Someone would be nominated to meet them and bring in the suitcase.  In the middle of the mass, they would bring in a barrel of water which would be blessed by the priest.
After mass, most neighbours would leave but the ones that had walked a long distance would stay for breakfast along with the priest.  They would get bacon, egg, toast and tea.

All Ireland Final 2011
Le Ultán Ó Braonáin
The All Ireland football final of 2011 will go down as one of the most dramatic sporting events in Gaelic history.
The game took place in Croke Park and the stadium was packed to the brim.  At 3.30 the ball was thrown in and Dublin started on the attack immediately but the ball was hit wide.  Kerry worked it up the field and scored the opening point with a great counter attack.
The match was very close at times and nerve-racking for the fans from both counties.  Colm Cooper scored a great goal to put Kerry into the lead.  A great ball in from Darren O’Sullivan was finished exquisitely by the Gouch.
Dublin had a narrow one point lead at half time with a score of Dublin 0-06 , Kerry 1-02.
In the second half Kerry had an early flurry of scores, including a fine long range point from Brian Sheehan, to put the Kingdom ahead by 4 points.  But a goal from Philly Mc Mahon put the Dubs right back into the game and the equalizer from Kevin Nolan made for a tense finish.
A last minute free for Dublin had Stephen Kluxton running up the pitch to take it.  He stepped up to the ball.  The place was silent.  The stadium erupted as Kluxton put it over the bar.
The Kerry keeper kicked the ball out and the ref blew his whistle.  The Dublin fans went crazy.
All in all, it was one of the best finals I have seen- a well deserved win for the Dubs.
